Committee Meeting - 9/1/17

We had our club committee meeting a few weeks back where the below was discussed. These are held every first Monday of the month in the Sitwell Arms, Whiston. Club members are more than welcome to attend to discuss any issues they have.

The next committee meeting will be: Monday 6th February 2017

First Aid Kits

As has been discussed previously these are now going to be ordered, a total of 9. Each ride leader will have one to take on the club ride when leading.

Water Bottles

We are going to hold off ordering these as James (Foxy) thinks there is potential to get a sponsor to fund them and so we can get full club colour logos on them. At present due to cost we would probably just get black bottles with a white logo on. We are going to discuss this again at next months Committee Meeting.

Window/Car Stickers

It was agreed we shall now order 100 of these. One will go in each water bottle to give to members. They will be around the size of the Tour De France car stickers.

Club Competitions

Rob is still in the process of working on the points system for these as discussed at the last Committee Meeting.

Club Track Session

Greg had proposed a group track session and does seem very popular amongst members. Duncan is going to speak to Greg and work with him to try and get us a good deal depending on numbers. We do need good number of members to want this to keep costs reasonable. Derby and Manchester velodrome have both been mentioned. Sessions are a few hours long and usually include coaching, bike, helmet, shoe and glove hire, bottled water, a team photo and prize to the winner.

Charities the Club could raise money for

It was agreed upon for members to suggest charities and a vote on them. Lee will run a poll on facebook.

SCC Sprint to the Sun

With Lee being in attendance we have now have a provisional route for this. It was agreed we do need to go and scout it out though, driving it first could be a good idea. Lee is going to find out some concrete numbers of members who want to do this. It was agreed we need at least 15-20 for it to go ahead. James is going to speak to our sponsor Mark (Expert Bike Repair) about him potentially being a support vehicle for this also. These are the two main factors for this event to go ahead.
